How can one go to Ikea, purchase no single item more than $5.99 and still end up spending $142.73?

the same reason we went to the hell that is Ikea looking for a dining room set and ended up with $170 worth of stuff that wasn't remotely related to a dining room set
Damn you Ikea....luckily your store experience was so hellacious we will not return. To the store that is. The web page, on the other hand.....
